After spending two seasons playing Junior B in the MJHL for the NY Apple Core, Cerrella shipped off to Waterloo, Iowa playing two seasons in the USHL.  In his two seasons he totaled 81 points lighting the lamp 48 times for the Blackhawks from 1995-1997.  The scoring is what caught the eye of Quinnipiac Head Coach Rand Pecknold and soon after he would offer Chris a chance to play Div I college hockey.  That opportunity paid off for player, team and coach as Cerrella was an All-American Freshman season and after his 4 seasons with Quinnipiac he skated off the ice with 205 career points which slates him as the all-time leading scorer in Quinnipiac school history.  In those 4 years Cerrella was also named as team and league MVP and was also nominated as Pre Season Player of the Year.  Through these accomplishments Quinnipiac has decided to induct Chris into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday October 8th when Quinnipiac has their home opener against Ohio State.  Some say that Cerrella and his recruiting class of 1997 are the class that helped build Quinnipiac to where they are today a power house in the ECAC..  The North Massapequa, NY native was one of the first players in school history to sign a pro contract as Cerrella suited up for 179 pro games tallying 71 goals and 74 assists for 145 points in his 3 year minor pro career.  He now is the Head Coach/GM of the CT Jr. Wolfpack in the AJHL/MJHL and is in his 5th season as a Head Coach.  Chris has been responsible for helping over 50 inspiring student athletes play at the Div I and Div III college hockey level.  "I am very thankful for the opportunities I was given by Quinnipiac and their coaching staff.  I was able to accomplish a lot on and off the ice and I will always have strong ties there.  To me Quinnipiac has to be the best place to play college hockey it is a great school, great facilities and has great athletics.  They are top notch and I am honored and thankful to be a part of Quinnipiac.  I wanted to thank Rand Pecknold and the coaching staff in the past and present and a special thanks to Al Carbone in admissions for having a lot of faith in me.  Those 4 years I will never forget," said Chris Cerrella
